Philippe Coutinho is one of the most failed signings in Barcelona transfer history. In January 2018, the Nou Camp team spent 135 million euros to own the signature of Coutinho from Liverpool.
However, reality is not as expected. The Brazilian midfielder brought one disappointment after another. Spanish media reported, Xavi plans to push Coutinho at the Eastern market this year. The media believes that six Premier League clubs have asked to own the midfielder born in 1992.
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of signing the 29-year-old this month. However, another source also shared, Coutinho has chosen two clubs and will make a final decision in the next 24 hours.
It is not clear which club will eventually land the former Inter Milan star, but Aston Villa, Arsenal, Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United have all contacted Coutinho in recent weeks.
In it, Villa was allowed to start the process of negotiating to borrow Coutinho with Barca. Newcastle is also a possible choice when Chick Choe is entering the process of changing blood and they need big-name stars to elevate themselves. This winter, Newcastle prepares to successfully recruit Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid.
