Conte accepts responsibility for loss to Burnley
At this point, Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are potential candidates to replace Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United. However, if Antonio Conte suddenly “hands off”, the Glazers and the rest of the board have reason to consider.
The Red Devils have decided not to appoint an official coach after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, shortly after a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Watford.
There have been interests in Pochettino and Ten Hag, but with both managers working at Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax. They were seen as too difficult to leave with the season going on.
And if Conte’s future at Tottenham is uncertain, Man Utd can appoint the Italian coach next summer.
After the loss to Burnley, Conte said: “I want to take responsibility for myself. I am open to all decisions because I want to help Tottenham. Four defeats in the last five games, this is the first time in my life that I have been in a relationship. this situation. This is unacceptable.”
“I came to try to improve the situation with Tottenham but maybe in this moment I’m not too good to improve that.”
“I’m trying to do everything to change but the situation hasn’t changed,” Conte expressed his frustration.
Indeed, Conte is the coach who made contacts with Man Utd as soon as Ole’s chair was shaken. However, the Red Devils delaying the decision to sack the Norwegian captain made Conte decide to choose Tottenham.
